I saw an episode on TLC about a Black Sea flood that occured due to the ice caps melting and pressure at the Bospurus and Dardanells (that used to be land between Turkey and the Balkans, and the Black Sea used to be fresh water and much smaller). Since that area was much lower and not as much of it underwater (and also fresh water), it made sense for people to settle there. hmmmmmmmm.
