On April 8th of this year, the city of Melbourne came to a stand-still when the news was heard that a mother had somehow driven her car into a lake in Wyndham Vale. In fact, that very afternoon I was following the story on the radio as it developed. She had well and truly survived the incident - but two of her children were dead as a result of drowning and two had been hospitalised, one to eventually die.
I remember the skepticism this event was met with, and as a parent myself I had a natural empathy with this mother. Forever having to live with the feelings of guilt and remorse about the end of her three youngest children's lives - as she claimed she'd had a dizzy spell at the wheel and remembers nothing between coming off of the road and coming to in the lake. While there is reasonable doubt in this story, the thought of a mother murdering her children (or father) is not something I like to even consider as an option.

Now, she is being charged with the drowning murders of Madit, Hanger and Bol - and the attempted murder of her six year old, Aluel.
I',m not sure how this conclusion has been reached - I'm not even sure if I do or want to fully believe it. All I know is this story warrants a thread following it.

For now, rest in peace to the three angels.

This is a sad story, i remember watching this in the news, i don't think we will ever know the truth behind it all, R I P to all of them

Rest in peace.

Very sad news and a shame. It's hard to judge or conclude this issue, perhaps it was all just an accident, first place, and the mother wasn't for blame. If the mother is innocent, very hard times indeed.
