When getting into the 2013 Cadillac XTS, one thing is pretty clear right away.

The brand is going all out in the hopes of attracting younger buyers with some of the newest gadgets on the market.

In fact, the automaker says this is the most technologically advanced vehicle it has ever produced, and that is evident even before you turn the car on. As soon as you are seated, you’re greeted by the Cadillac User Experience, with a welcome screen and signature audio signal. We’ll talk more about CUE later, but it’s definitely something I could get used to.

There is no shortage of other technological advancements, both visible and hidden, in the XTS, which has a base price of $50,995 (including destination charges) for the front-wheel-drive version.

The Black Raven tester, equipped with all-wheel drive, was part of the Luxury Collection and once the ultraview sunroof ($1,660) was added, the final price came to $57,795.

And as I discovered behind the wheel, this black beauty feels right at home in the city streets during a night on the town as it does on the open road as you make your way through the twisty highway up to Mont-Tremblant.
