Just wondering what everyone thought of Scotland leaving the United Kingdom, whether they thought it was a good idea or bad idea and their thoughts on SNP?

I think I accidently made this come under a "competition"...? Sorry. >_<

I don't live in the UK and honestly don't have a whole lot of knowledge about the subject... I just know that my friend living in Scotland dislikes the idea of Scottish independence. They said that the money switch would be a pain in the ****, the increase of prevalence of Scottish-Gaelic would be no fun (they said it was like speaking Klingon when they had to speak it in primary school), and the increased difficulty of immigration to some places would suck.

There was an article I found on Google where someone claimed the party couldn't even work out how everything would be funded, so I understand where she's coming from with the money business.

Fixed the prefix :)

I personally like it that Scotland are united with England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
I don't like the idea of them becoming independent simply because I just love the fact it's the United Kingdom. In terms of actual benefits and detriments of the change, I have no idea what's best.

Thanks for fixing :p

I love that we're united too and I think it's great for countries to be together. I'd even support countries joining us/forming a bigger nation (but that's a discussion for another time lol). But if Scots want to leave should they be allowed to if it'd mess up our country and economy as well as theirs, just because they want to be independent?

It's totally up to Scotland, but it honestly seems like it would be more trouble than anything. It's also one of the reasons I don't support Australia becoming a republic. Too much hassle for such a worthless gain.
