For those computer gurus.... I need your help.
I tried to install AOL 6.0 but when the self installing software loading up to 86% an error message comes up that says:
"The file 'E:\win98\Netscape40\communicator\program\plugins\nphppi.dll' could not be opened. Please check that your disk is not full and that you have access to the destination directory. The directory is not ready".
You see I have the AOL disk in drive E (CD-ROM drive) is suppose to install the AOL 6.0 There is no such subdirectory of win98 on the AOL disk.
Furthermore, I check my window 98 system disk and there is no such directory. All my netscape files were delected completely**. The AOL installation program just hung up and I had to aboart.
The AOL technician over the toll free number said that the netscape plugin program (still residing somewhere on my computer is affecting the installation and advising me to download AOL 5.0
I then proceed to download AOL 5.0 and there was no problem in installation on my computer. However, after I installed AOL and click on the icon --- nothing happened.
I am back to square one--- I think I need to delete any files that has association with Netscape.
I am thinking of downloading netscape browser and then deleting it. What do you think.
Thank you for reading. I know this take away a minute of your time and if you think you wasted your time I am terribly sorry.
