Snow in Atacama Desert

Absolutely amazing. Bet the people who live in that area were surprised and cold when this storm hit.

Yep, and then there's those folks that flat out deny that any climate change is happening.

Alone in the area where I live there's been plenty of changes in climate: Winters have become milder, for instance, and Summers are either cold or hot, and Spring and Fall almost seem to have disappeared altogether. When I was a child, every Winter was filled with snow ... I had to have snow boots, for Christsakes ... and nowadays, we're lucky if we get any snow in a Winter ... sometimes it comes in late Spring now (there's a funny farmer's proverb here for that: If it snows on Easter, Christmas isn't too far away!) ... I've seen Summers with barely a warm day at all, and Summers with searing heat at 42 °C, but when I was younger, the seasons appeared to be more in tune with what's expected from them. ;)

Today, I mused that there hasn't been a proper thunderstorm in ages around here, maybe 1 year, maybe two, not one effing thunderstorm!! One thunderclap, perhaps it pours for a couple of seconds, and that's it!! That's sort of Mediterranean weather ...
