My parents live in Lake Geneva, WI. Most of the town was without power for 1/2 the day and they still don't know why. My Dad is on oxygen 24/7 and has to do breathing treatments several times a day that require electric. He had to go to a hospital and use their electric to do a couple of his treatments. Thankfully the electric is back on as their house was starting to get cold. They live 1 hr. away and have 4 dogs so it's not like they can just pop over for a bit.
As my parents get older, I'm starting to feel more and more like I have to parent them.

I'm thinking how much I still enjoy a good Joni Mitchell album--always reminds me of one year in college a group of us got a cabin overlooking a lake down in Florida and in the evenings my girlfriend and I would go out onto the balcony and she would play her guitar and sing to me... I think I'm much more nostalgic than I probably should be for my age...

Frick! Went to the Dentist today for routine exam/cleaning. Thought I had a sinus infection and hell no! It happens to be a major tooth infection that has gone to my sinuses. 2 1/2 hour root canal scheduled for Tuesday. Gotta get it done before the busy Christmas season kicks in along with my 12 hr days!!!! Tuesday is gonna suck.......at least I will get a 25.00 gf from Jewel pharmacy out of it.out:

Sooo I'm at my moms for a few hours today and I get a few calls from friends. "Do you know your home phone has been disconnected?" Sure enough I dial my home number and my phone has been disconnected. This was our gift from Comcast for ****ing about our bill being too high yesterday. My dh called Comcast and told them we have no service, they say they need to call us back. They never call back. Dh calls again, they say we need to wait until tomorrow. Really? ****ers! I am so pissed right now. We realize we have a dialtone so we call our cell phone from home phone....THEY CHANGED OUR PHONE NUMBER THAT WE HAVE HAD FOR 25 YEARS!!! I want to hurt someone at Comcast right now. :gah:
That sounds like a good Seinfeld episode or something. Too bad it really happened.

When driving with my son I think one day he will be driving me around because I won't be able to drive. When we are together and I see older kids help their elderly parents shop I ask him if he will do the same for me. Thankfully he says yes for now anyway. :lol: :cry1: OMG i'm crying thinking about it. I often think to much of the future and forget how great the present is.
Can I ask what your symptoms were? My sinuses have been terrible lately and I constantly have phlegm going down the back of my throat (I know tmi) and one of my teeth has been bothering me. Symptoms are very similar to yours. I have had tenderness on one side of my mouth off and on for 2 weeks. Not enough pain to call it a tooth ache. Just bothersome.
Dentist saw it on the xrays before he ever looked in my mouth. The sinus that has been giving me the most problems is on the same side of face. Hopefully this takes care of it!!
