Spiders

Is anyone else having a spider issue this fall? We have soooo many spiders both inside & out, and it's creeping me out.

Last night we were at a meeting & DD13 greeted us at the door at 10:30 demanding that DH go in her bathroom to kill all of the bugs. I wish I had taken a picture because there was the biggest freaking ugly black spider I've ever seen in the bathtub. It was easily a 2" wide spider with a body the size of a nickel. DH killed it with a broom & we could hear him beating it a solid 7 times. He said it was jumping away from the broom. :lol:

That combined with the 2" centipede I made DD17 shoo out the door yesterday...we need to do something around here! The last time I had an exterminator come it was $250. Does anyone know of something I can spray myself? We have cats & dogs, so it needs to be somewhat safe.

Exactly. If there's one there is more. It took me a long time to fall asleep last night because I was thinking that that could be ON ME WHILE I'M SLEEPING. I finally convinced myself that while I may not hear someone in the house, I would probably FEEL something crawling on me because that's totally different. :lol:

Now I'm wishing I hadn't thoroughly vacuumed the other day. I've disrupted their lives & they are creating a spider army.

Sorry, but I've always thought it odd that I rarely see a bug in my house. :9: There was plenty in the house I grew up in.

I've definitely noticed more outside this year & thought it had to do with our new vinyl siding. (I googled and found spiders like vinyl siding - that's something they don't mention before they do the installation. out But I mentioned it to my neighbor and she said she's noticed a lot more spiders this year than in the past.

We also have alot of big **** mosquitos outside. I didn't know what the hell they were and when I pointed one out to my neighbor she told me they're mosquitos.

this is when most people get bitten. The average person swallows 8 spiders a year (not 100% sure my stats are right) nom nom!

• I have noticed alot more spiders in my bathroom too. We put in a new ceiling fan and I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

No spiders here.................knock on wood............. a few ants a couple yrs ago, and some flys lately that come in the back door, but thats about it. Thank god.

to be honest, i dont mind acouple spiders around the outside of the house- they keep other bugs out & away. but if you start having alot of spiders you know theyre finding other bugs to munch on..*shivers*

We've been finding huge spiders in the yard and patio. I've never seen them so big and ugly. None in the house and I like it that way.

We were just talking about this at work yesterday! We've seen tons in our classrooms, the lunchroom...all over.

and at home! They are terrible this year! I'm itching thinking about it!

I really hate spiders! I just use regular spider/bug spray and I spray around the doors and windows.

We live in my DH grandmothers house and when she was alive and we would visit my DH would have to hold the door open for me so I could run in. It would be covered with spiders so when we moved in I sprayed the door and overhang once a week and seemed to work because now we only get a few.

The wolf spiders around here appear to be on steroids...they are HUGE. There was one at the bottom of the basement steps the other night...ran to get mistah and he was gone it always scares me when they "get away" because I don't know where they will turn up :9:

We get the spiders (outside every year) Big Huge Wolf Spiders!!!!! I refuse to do yard work this time of year. DH sprays the foundation of the house and it keeps them out of the inside.
