SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador (Reuters) - A strong aftershock rocked El Salvador on Saturday, causing fresh damage in a nation still reeling from two major quakes, including one only days earlier that killed over 300 people.

Officials said there were no confirmed injuries in the 5.3-magnitude aftershock, which -- capable of causing considerable damage -- made some already-weakened walls collapse around the capital San Salvador.

"Only God knows if all this shaking will continue or not," Mauricio Ferrer, head of the National Emergency Committee, told reporters.
