Technology (VS) Art

Do you think that creating an image or a video in the computer is an art? Have you ever created an image or a video with a program? For example, Photoshop or iMovie?
Many people believe that creating images in Photoshop is not an art. I disagree. It is a different way to express your feelings. It is an art! I have created many images with the help of the technology and I am very satisfied with them. I don't know how to draw or how to write poems, but I know how to create images in PS. What are your opinions about this matter?

Anything can be considered art. If you recall some time back, there was an art exhibition which featured a painting that consisted solely of one colour. A block of orange that covered the entire canvas. If that can be considered art, I don't think it's plausible to say Photoshopped images are not.

Like Rebecca Chambers said; anything can be considered art.

That said however, it's needless to say there's different types and qualities of art, which are judged by people with different interests and tastes. For me, I find art to be something crafted carefully/lovingly, with emotional depth, but I also find some of the more simplistic of imagery to be art in it's own right. The method of creating such art to be is irrelevant.

I used to do forum signatures on Photoshop, which I guess could be considered photo manipulation. I was never any good at it, but some of the works of others I'd seen were truly spectacular. As far as I'm concerned, whether it be through a brush or a computer, you can find and make art from anything and anywhere.
