Argh! They're COMPLETELY destroying the purpose of linux! Help me!
Redmond Linux Homepage
What have they done?
Don't they realize that the reason linux is fast and stable, AND compatible, is because it's NOT userfriendly!
Meanwhile, back in the land of the sane bondage fairies...

RedmondLinux has a bug where if you have "Local Area Network" open, as well as a terminal window, and you try to click the "Go" button, it crashes.
Here's an even better example of the instability...
THEY IMPLEMENTED A BSOD! (BlueScreenOfDeath)
RedmondLinux has a BSOD.

I've been debating switching to some other UNIX flavor for awhile now.
RedHat is especially starting to go WAY too userfriendly. Given I love having console based GUIs for setting stuff up, they just keep taking it too far.
If you REALLY need all this setup crap...... use webmin.
I had to research around the net for a **** long time before I found out that Redhat DISABLED sendmail's server mode. They ASSUME that most users won't need it in server mode. There a bunch of other stupid things too.
Argh

moonsee> Might want to look at another distro of Linux, like Slackware or Debian, which aren't as "user friendly", but are just as feature rich.

Also, might want to look at Solaris. Very nice OS.

Dan: I myself will stick with Dual Boot Win98SE and Debian 2.2r3
Windows purely and simply, because when it runs, it runs just about everything on the market, and Debian, because it always runs.

Dan, I do find it rather interesting that one can install Solaris on a PC.....besides....it's absolutely free. I assume the PC port uses CDE for it's GUI interface? Makes me want to try it out, one weekend....while really bored.
