I've really been working on making new friends this year, and be a guy who can be nice to everyone. That's slowly becoming a reality, because I'm in marching band this year, and I notice myself making a lot of friends there. Now, speaking of marching band, there is this one particular guy in it whom I've had some issues getting along with. I've posted about him before: http://www.confab-it.com/showthread...uy-who-wants-to-be-friends-with-me&highlight=

Now, as I've written in the thread above, I've always thought that this guy acts pretty awkward around me, and lately I'm perceiving that he can't seem to act naturally, and I;m not sure how I could deal with it.

1) I was at math club, and while I was sitting there, he walks into the room and approaches me. And while he approaches me, he says, "Mass, mass, mass, mass, mass, mass..." all over again. Then he said, "Some people say 'math' like 'mass'."Later, we were doing a problem that was on the white board at the front of the room, and when I was trying to solve it, he's all like, "You should know how to do this. It is an easy problem." The other people were trying to solve it, and he said, "They are having difficulties with such and easy problem." But then I asked him if he knew how to solve it, and he said that he couldn't. He didn't say anything when I asked him why he would say that it was easy if he didn't know how to solve it.

2) When we were changing to our marching band uniforms last Saturday before a competition, he comes by me and asks if I want to be his roommate for a competition at Fresno. I was like, "Eh, well, I kind of want to be roommates with someone else, but I'll think about it." Later, he asks me if I decided if I want to be his roommate, and I said no. Then he said that he already sent our names with two other people as a cabin group. That really pissed me off, but I did not show it.

3)Walking home together one day--
Him: So how's your day?
Me: Okay.
Him: Okay? Then that means that it's not good.
Me: ......

4) In the marching band competition today, our brass section got second place, and the woodwinds got first place. I play trumpet, and he plays clarinet. So today, when we were walking home together,he is all like, "You guys got second place, and we got first." After he claps his hand, he's all like, "you guys need to practice more." That really pissed me off for some reason, so I told him to shut up. He was laughing.

5) He seems to copy what I would do all the time. He raises his chin slightly when we see each other, like hip hoppers do, and he goes crazy all the time. (I'm sort of a crazy person) Those actions don't really fit with his character, in my opinion.

6) Me: Hey, what's up?
Him: The sky is up. (Laughing)
Me: (Sarcastically) hahahahahah you're so funny -.-

And the other thing is that he seems to be acting the same way to others as well. A few months ago, we were chatting about making new friends, and I told him, "Well, it's important to make new friends, you know." I think he took the advice way too literally, because he chats with just about anybody that he sees, and judging from their reactions, I think they think of him the same way I think of him.

So yeah, not sure how I could cope with this situation.
