Ya that's how it was around my neighborhood too, I remember my cousin had one and I'd play with it on vacations down at their house.I remember the 'rich' kids had these, we had to use much simpler devices.
I've driven several manual vehicles in my day, I actually like to drive and usually volunteer whenever we go on family outings these days.My first car was a stick shift. But I sold it before I really got the hang of driving a manual shift. I thought it was too dangerous for me learn on a stick shift. Looking back, I realize I made a mistake.
