Turkey has shot down a Russian military jet but thankfully the pilot managed to eject safely. Turkey says that they gave multiple warnings to the jet to leave their airspace but ignored it. The pilot has now said a very different story to what Turkey have released.

Vladimir Putin said earlier today that Captain Konstantin Murakhtin, who was initially reported to have been killed along with his fellow pilot, was ‘safe and sound’ following a 12-hour operation that involved the Syrian army and ended in the early hours this morning.

Turkish military officials said they gave the Russian pilots 10 warnings to return to Syrian airspace over a five-minute period before the plane was shot down, but Captain Murakhtin has now told Russian television that no warning was given, and there was ‘no way’ the jet violated in Turkish airspace.

Reports suggest his co-pilot was killed by gunfire as he parachuted from the burning plane.
Putin vowed ‘significant consequences’ following news of the downing, and this revelation is unlikely to help the matter.
The Russian president called the action, which was the first time in half a century that a Nato member has downed a Russian plane, a ‘stab in the back by the terrorists’ accomplices’.

Annnnnnnnd the ball for World War 3 has started to roll. Seriously, things are a powder keg in the middle east, why didn't the plane get out of the area?

It was there for 17 seconds, according to the surviving pilot, no warning was given, Turkey said that they gave ample warnings, but their version suggests that the plane was there longer, but radar says it wasn't, now some of the US soldiers that were on the ground doing what ever are saying that the plane was in Syrian airspace, The Turks are buying oil from Isis that are on the border where Russia is bombing, so of cause they are going to protest their interests, Turkey are dam lucky Russia don't blow them to hell now, UN and Us won't be able to stop Russia if they start. And that is one thing Obama is scared of happening./

That was an obvious abuse from Turkey's side, they were lucky no one is hurt.

Seems like there won't be any confirmed story on this as it seems all sides are saying something different and sticking to it.

Yeah that was going to happen, i see Russia has moved a heap of anti air craft missile machinery 50kms from Turkey boarder. Plus Russia will probably sanction Turkey now as well which will nearly destroy Turkeys economy.
