I tend to like dark themes. However, a good percentage of users don't like them. Well, maybe the dislike isn't strong enough to mean much, but in marketing it might be a loss.
I think dark themes are just as easy to read. However, I think it's an individual thing. Anyway, though, certain fonts on a dark theme can make it worse. Also, I have seen fonts on a white theme that make things tough.Most of my websites are blogs and forums where people get to read articles and interact with topics (in the case of forums). In my experience, it will be practically difficult to read and write when you have a dark background, Therefore, I use a light theme.
Very true. That's why I like sites that let you customise the appearance. I know it's hard to implement but being able to choose the site colours or simply being able to switch between a light and dark theme is very nice.I think dark themes are just as easy to read.
