The application called Snapchat allows photographs and videos to be sent and viewed for a short time only.

However the photographs can easily be stored and used against you.

Please do NOT consider sending intimate or potentially embarrassing images to your friends as they could well be posted all over the internet. Once others have them in their possession you are vulnerable.

Unfortunate but true, though you'd think that people using these services would be aware of the concept of "printscreening" by now. :(

It tells you if someone takes a screenshot.

I've sent thousands of pics on snapchat, but nothing naughty ;) I'm aware it stores it locally and can be retrieved.

I know, and that's the point; generally people are aware of this and that it's often done, yet girls still think it's clever to get their knockers out and send it to the biggest idiot in their class. Oh, and then claim all boys are ****bags once it's spread around.

Use some common sense people! :D

Sending intimate pictures in general is a really bad idea. I see no issues between a trusting loving relationship, but most girls think they're in one and then the guy spreads them round. It can ruin your life temporarily.

It's not only about trust. Use this app to send to the guy you love but any idiot with some computer knowledge can hack into the images... It's a dangerous app but I still use it for funny faces heh :3

I love this app and I know what can happen but I'd never send something embarrassing. :) Good girl over here.

So what happens when there's a break-up on bad terms and he uses those images to sully your name? It's just as dangerous there.

See, there are some people that would do that but I can say honestly that if myself and my boyfriend had exchanged compromising pictures and something happened to break us up, even if it was something really serious or angering like cheating, we still would not send the photos around. I'm not like that, and even if he cheated on me I wouldn't do it out of spite and I expect Kirk would be the same way. It's up to you to decide who you trust, you can put your trust in the wrong person.
I don't see issues with doing it with someone you know definitely wouldn't betray you that way, or even between husbands/wives etc. I don't see the point in dating someone if I can't trust them that much anyway :p

I get your point though :) it's hard to know who to trust all the time and mistakes are made so safest way is to just not to send them :p

I just don't see the point in snapchat...
Just another stupid app to me.

I don't have it but I've heard that it tells you if the recipient has taken a screenshot of the picture on their phones, however, there's not much you can do about it once they've screenshotted it and they could also take a picture of their screen with a camera so you'd never know. My advice would be for people to get more self respect and don't degrade themselves by sending people rude images to strangers or even friends!
