Three people have been questioned by police after shining laser pens at illusionist David Blaine, who is five days into his 44-day stint suspended in a perspex box without food.
Blaine was reportedly concerned by the prank, as in the US "a red dot means that someone is aiming a gun at you", a security source said.
After Blaine pointed out the well-hidden trio to security guards, they were caught and handed over to police who released them after questioning.
Other onlookers have so far pelted Blaine's box with eggs and golf balls, as well as hurled verbal abuse.
But perhaps the most painful "torture" for the 30-year-old has been the smell of food wafting up from a burger van parked underneath his box which is suspended from a crane 40ft in the air.
Tony Montana, manager of the Riverside Refreshments van parked just 50 yards from Blaine said: "If he doesn't like it, that's tough. We can't move the smell."
Montana has extended his opening hours as Blaine's stunt has seen his takings exceed £1,000 a day as more and more come to take a look themselves.
