windows xp help!! Urgent!

anyone here have windows xp?
I'm asking because I need some drivers.. it appears that the drivers for my cd-rom ****ed up last night when I was installing the new dvd drive.. the dvd drive is find..but the cdwriter isn't.

I need someone who has windows xp and is willing to give me

imapi.sys and cdrom.sys which are located in the following folder

C:\windows\system32\driver

okay well it appears that my cd burner is just screwed oh well.

sounds like a reformat to me, their always good.

No I'm just going to go buy a better on and install it into my computer. Something that I know will work with XP

This is what is stoping me from upgrading to xp, heard things like this might happen. I wish I could just go and get a better one then there would be no stopping me.

Actually I had windows xp uploaded way before the cd-rom went out. I talked to HP and they said that it probably happened because of a power surge or something, cause it was really stormy that night.

I've had a very good experience with XP so far. All my programs worked fine and things like that. I had to uninstall Direct CD but other than that..it's not a problem.. just re-install it after XP
