A United Nations-led program to eradicate polio worldwide has reduced the number of cases of the crippling disease by 99 percent since 1988, figures released Tuesday showed.

Polio is found in 20 countries:

Ivory Coast
Egypt
Ethiopia
Ghana
India
Nepal
Niger
Nigeria
Pakistan
Republic of Congo
Sierra Leone
Somalia
