Well, my site and the forum on it is gaming related. I chose this niche because it's just something that I know well and something I enjoy as well.
I have two drumming forums cause I like drumming (most of all). Also, I have a guitar and bass one because I like that. Finally, I have a general music lesson one, an art one, a math one, two general discussion ones and two hosting/web development ones. Anyway, note some of these forums have been taken down temporarily.

Iv always had the intention of starting a Sports forum or Animal forum, but years on and still haven't made one lol.

The Xbox Forum and Webmaster Forum i had was phpBB.
Definitely XenForo (This software Peak Forums is using). :D

I was having trouble upgrading phpBB so I had have to go with MyBB. However, though, normally I would want a premium solution via XenForo.

yeah phpBB was a right pain when a forum had alot of mods on it and they or the forum itself needed a software update.

The first choice for my forum's niche was a general discussion forum and I kept it like that for a little bit before I changed it to the niche it is now. With so many general discussions and off-topic forums, it is quite overly saturated, but many have been saying how they would love to see more promotion forums to promote their websites, blogs, and forums. This gave me the idea to change my forum into a promotion forum and I have found that it has been better for my forum than it was before as a general chat forum. Still early days but it is looking promising at the moment.
I love doing all kinds of crafts, so choosing a craft niche made the most sense. I have 40 years of crafting experience (at least that much) and I know many varieties of crafts. I like learning new things too and am hoping that people can teach me those on my forum.
