7 Dead in Santa Monica Shooting

SANTA MONICA, Calif. ? At least six people were killed and five wounded on Friday morning as a gunman, dressed in black and carrying an automatic rifle, strode across Santa Monica firing at people, cars and buildings before being shot and killed by the police at the Santa Monica College Library.

it seems this trend isn't ending any time soon.): i wish we were able to do more about it; maybe find the source of WHY these people are deciding to shoot up school and maybe have therapy more open and affordable to them. it's disgusting how often this has happened in the past year.
what do you guys think? is there a solution to this? more gun control, more effort on stopping bullying?

i hope all the families of those who died will find peace, and that those injured will recover quickly.

My question, as always, is this.

Why does the Second Amendment get people's balls bunched up when you even so much as hint at the fact that YOU DON'T NEED A ****ING ASSAULT RIFLE FOR PROTECTION? I get concealed carry, I get single-shot rifles, I get hunting shotguns. But why oh why does anyone really need a freakin' AK-47 or an M16A2? Here's a simple solution that'll stop some of these shootings, and reduce the damage they do in general. Stop selling military-grade weaponry to the general public. I'll bet buttons to biscuits this guy's gun was legally-purchased.

Isn't that what Obama is trying to stop at the moment though, military-grade weapons from being legal?

Anyway, R.I.P to those killed. It would be interesting to see what this guy's "message" was, or if he was just yet another mindless killer without a purpose.

He's trying, but it won't work. The gun lobbyists freak out at the mere mention of it, so even if it goes to vote it won't be passed. They're too dumb to understand he's not trying to take away your Nine. He's just trying to stop people rolling around with MK48s and 5.56 full-auto assault rifles with drum mags.
