Advancement a boom or vain

I think the technological advancement in the past 40 years has been a strain on the planet and our ability to sustain our way of life long term. With more and more technology being used needing electricity, and more and more countries using electricity I think it will continue to be a problem.
I am hoping at the same time that technology that is advancing is becoming slightly more efficient at using the resources we have so it will delay the problem even if ever so slightly. I think to put it simply, we need to 'slow your roll' a bit

I think this new technology is actually both pretty good and bad. New techs make life easier for the common person, but sometimes creates a reliance upon it which isn't very good. So long as we can benefit from technology without relying on it completely we're fine. If it keeps advancing - and I'm sure it will - I hope it makes things more efficient, running on less, more renewable resources.

tech certainly has taken a leap forward, I just hope we can keep maintaining it.
