What do you think of either one or both of the following sub-forums added to the Animals & Pets forum?
Most of the other main forums have sub-forums and i think the second of the two above options is good for that area. I have been keeping fish for years and also had many reptiles so i can help fill the new sub-forums with threads for people to chat on and also i know a good bit about both fish keeping and looking after reptiles so will be able to reply on other peoples threads there helping them out with any issues or questions. :p I just think it would be better to keep these 2 categories of discussion separate within the Pets & Animals forum away from the other generals cats, dogs, birds, etc.. threads. :p

I’d prefer this one - because exotics is more broad.
Yeah that would be good to talk about Lizards, Snakes, even Parrots, etc.. too but while some exotic fish species would fit into "Exotic Animals", but talking about "non-Exotic" type fish like goldfish, mollies, trout lol, etc.. and also aquatic snails, algae eaters, etc.. doesn't. :p So i think it would be better to have an "Aquatic Animals" or "Aquatic Life" sub-forum to go along next to the "Exotic Animals" sub-forum in the Animals & Pets area. :p

*sigh*

So, what you're proposing is two sub-forums in the Animals and Pets section; you've asserted that you intend to post threads in both.

I advocate against this. My belief is that forums and subforums should only be created when multiple members have posted more threads than one page is capable of dealing with; so for example: If I have a thread about my dog, and you're posting 10 threads about fish, and another member is posting 10 threads about cats... you can see where I'm going, my topic gets drowned out.

This situation warrants a subforum. Not one member asking to post every thread in that forum; that just looks bad.

By creating an "Exotic Animals" subforum, it provides other members with a place to discuss more than one animal, it, therefore, makes sense. We can move topics later.

1 sub-forum could be called "Exotic Animals & Fish"? :p This does what your saying and can hold a wider range of threads?

Personally I don't think the area warrants further subforums as there's only 2 pages of threads as-is.

If you want we can add subforums but I don't think it'll make a huge difference personally

Was just a suggestion to see what others thought and was saying it would be a member that posts in there, that said i can still post in there wither there is a sub-forum or just in the main forum so its all one. :p Was just wondering what others thought as there is other forums with the low thread count with sub-forums and i guess im just of the opinion of making the forum first as appose to waiting till there is 100s of threads then going through them all when deciding to make a sub-forum later. :p

I don't think more should be added to the animals and pets-forum. To be honest, I think it's a too specific forum as it is, and I would rather see it removed than expanded.

Well, thinking about it, the "Nature, Gardening & Wildlife and Animals & Pets forums could be put together as both have only 30 odd threads in each and Wildlife, Nature, Animals, Pets, etc.. and go together. :p

This has been done. Thanks for your feedback on this :)
Going to mark as solved! :D
