Birth Control???

I don't use anything with hormones, just the paragard IUD. Never any problems. I have had 2. Whenever we want kids we get it taken out- works great. Also, my insurance covers the cost.

I ended up going on Yaz. I went to my Doctors visit and we discussed my symptoms and options. So far I have been happy on Yaz. It has changed my life for the better.

The only side effect I have experienced is weight gain. And all the weight gain has been in my chest! Not too thrilled about but DH is ;)

Now I only have to decide if I want a period every month (which I did get it last month) or if I want to stay on it for 3 months and then have a period.

If you decide to go 3 months between you might have quite a bit of breakthrough bleeding/spotting for the first couple cycles. At least I did.

Did you feel all bloated and nasty? I am worried about. I love the idea of Aunt Flo not visiting though.

I did Seasonal, so it might be different with a different brand. The first pack (3mo) was awful, lots of breakthrough bleeding and I felt like crap. After that I felt better, but the spotting lasted though the first 3 packs (9mo). Might just be me though, I don't do well with hormonal BC in general.

I currently have nothing. Pull and Pray or Condom if we get that far. A 2 year old and 3 month old usually make sure there's not much going on.

When I was 14 I was put on Ortho Tri Cyclen for hormone issues. At 19 I got a blood clot because of the BC pills.

Turns out I have a genetic disorder (just found out at age 31) and it's a hormone thing so I can NEVER get hormones or risk a clot.

I got pregnant at 20 while on blood thinners and had to do blood thinners through my entire pregnancy. Nothing like injection "porcine mucosa" into your stomach twice a day to remind you not to get pregnant again.

I got the Paraguard IUD after that child and LOVED it. Got it out at 7 years later because I had some issues *my own fault*. I got pregnant with my 2nd child about 2 months after that. After I had her, I tried to get another IUD but after three attempts I gave up. We used the pull and pray method for a year and a half and apparently our prayers weren't being heard and my number 3 was on his way.

Since I can't do hormones and we aren't sure if we are gonna go for another, we are not using anything, like I said. But I HIGHLY recommend the paraguard. It is wonderful. I had the most predictable periods EVER on it. LOVE LOVE LOVED it!

I LOL'd with that one too and was asked what was so funny. gremlin2 is a prude though.

She just shook her head. She shook her head at my response to this thread too.

Lighten up dude! Whose kid are you!... Oh, wait.... She gets that from her dad.

Believe it or not, my husband blushes very easily. He has gotten better in the last 21 years, but still blushes! SMH

The chick who got knocked up out of wedlock is a prude?
