cake balls help?

Those are really cute! I think they turned out well & you wouldn't know they were your first attempt.

My DD makes these allllll the time. More like cakepops, though, on sticks. Super cute! She made cupcakes for tomorrow, but now I'm wishing she'd done cake balls! This would be much easier than trying to get them to stay on the stick.

ok this thread got me going and I made them for the first time today. I have to tell you, everyone thought they were the best and would like to know why I didn't make them before. Made a second batch and I am taking them to the in laws today. You guys all help me in so many ways. Thanks! I always look good when I take the advise from CW.

What combination did you make?

Wow, they turned out great! I made these once and they went over really well. They weren't nearly as purdy as yours were. I haven't made them again just because they're quite a bit of work.

I used a funfetti cake mix with vanilla frosting and dipped in chocolate.

I found it easiest to decorate them with sprinkles by dipping them in chocolate first and letting them cool/dry completely, then when I was done dipping them all and they were ok to touch I warmed up alittle more chocolate and dipped just the tops and then dipped them in sprinkles. Made it alot easier, then I didnt have to worry about decorating them quickly cause that chocolate does dry fast! I am gonna make some for our memorial day weekend camping trip, not sure which flavor, but thinking of dipping the in cruches nuts the same way. Yum! and I did become addicted......thankfully I only kept a few at home!

Made my first cake pops for Memorial Day....thanks to CW!

Those are adorable! I also made some cake balls for memorial day weekend, chocolate cake/chocolate frosting/chocolate coating. Everyone loved them, and of course there gone. Not sure if I liked them more than the yellow cake mix chocolate frosting combo though. Either way so glad I finally started making these and everyone seems to love them. Want to make the strawberry/cream cheese or carrot/creamcheese combo next. Yum!
