He's already done the unthinkable and won the Tour De France six times. I don't think even that will be repeated. My feeling is that Miguel Indurain could have won six if he had not been riding for Pedro Delgado in 1988, he was by far the strongest rider on the tour that year and I remember him having to slow on some of the hills for Pedro to catch up. But if he had won that one, it wouldn't be the six in a row that Armstrong has achieved. Jan Ulrich is tipped as favourite for this year and win or loose, it will be Armstrong's last. This could turn out to be the most exiting battle since Stephen Roche and Pedro Delgado in '87.
Here's a little fact that I remember from when "Big Mig"(Indurain) was the man. Take your resting pulse rate, now compare it to Miguel's at the hight of his fitness, it was only 28 beats per minute.

Hmmmmmmm maybbe we better do the Vbookie? lol
I think Lance has gone as far as he can.......

Do I think he can?

Yes.

Do I think he will?

No.

He should have left it last year I think. But you never know, his team and the cycling community will certainly be looking out for him.

REUTERS Armstrong takes Tour lead as Zabriskie crashes

BLOIS, France (Reuters) - Lance Armstrong seized the Tour
de France yellow jersey in dramatic fashion Tuesday when his
Discovery Channel team sped to victory in the fourth stage
ahead of the CSC outfit of previous leader David Zabriskie, who
crashed near the finish.

Lance Armstrong regained firm control of the Tour de France and the yellow jersey in Courchevel Tuesday on a grueling first day in the Alps that left all of his main rivals trailing.

Alejandro Valverde (Illes Balears) won the 10th stage, held over 192.5km between Grenoble, after beating Armstrong in a two-man race for the finish line - and the American was sporting enough to shake the young Spaniard's hand immediately afterward.

Overnight race leader Jens Voigt (CSC) finished well off the pace on a first day in the Alps which featured two category 1 climbs and the first summit finish of the race.

Results are posted

"It was the first big day for our team," said Armstrong, whose Discovery Channel team was found wanting last week in the Vosges when his teammates left him dangerously exposed.

"They're a super team and set a great pace for me at the front of the climb. I had good legs today, but I want to say thanks to (Michael) Rasmussen, Valverde and (Francisco) Mancebo - without them I might not have got the result I wanted."

The Rest here

There's alot riding on him to make a grand exit though. While pressure might make him crack I'm hopeful that he'll keep win. At least he'll be able to leave the competition for the last time with his last race being a victory.

ill be happy if he wins, as long as he dont come back next year, im sick of this story and will be glad thats its over for good
