Cancelling Cable and going to online streaming?

I have the Roku in my room, kids have xbox, and living room has the ps3. I pay for netflix and hulu plus. I tried Amazon, but I just did not like the layout of it on my roku vs hulu. Hulu plus does suck sometimes because it doesn't always give you shows that I THINK you can get on reg free hulu. But I think some of those shows do not appear are because of the network, not necessarily the hulu plus. Because when I tried Amazon, I wasn't able to get them on their either, even as a prime member. I can connect my computer to my tv, and watch shows that do not come on netflix or hulu plus. I pay around $25 a month for internet through att. Kids love netflix ( I enjoy it when I watch old seasons of shows that I never had seen before) and I enjoy hulu plus. I can stream SOME of the nba games on my computer, but only certain ones, and they lag in time by a few minutes. I have a hard time getting the local channels with an antenna, idk why. And I have tried the cheap antenna, as well as an expensive one. My tv is even set up to be an antenna, and still sucks! :pout: I wish I could, cause then I can watch football. hope any of this helps, lol I think I started to ramble...

So please explain why one would opt for Amazon Prime?

DH has been trying HULU and just signed up for 30 free days of Amazon Prime, but everything he is watching for FREE on HULU is $1.99 on Amazon Prime. Am I missing something??

These are TV series so it is $1.99 PER EPISODE on Amazon Prime.

Depends on what you want to watch... obviously Amazon Prime is good for the many things it offers free. My DD is watching an episode of "Little Bear" on prime right now.

I consider the tv/shows/movies a bonus...since I split the cost of prime with my brother, for the fast shipping, it's already paid for.

I love the free shipping with no minimum on Prime plus I have a Kindle Fire and I like it for that.

We are thinking about doing this too. We have Apple TV which is very similar to Roku but Apple's version. They only thing is the sports for my husband. You can get sport packages for about $50 on Apple TV and have access to everything for the year. Still cheaper to buy the sport package you want then to pay cable every month. I just need to get DH on board but I'm done!

I also am very tired of my Cable,Phone, Internet bill. Originally price wasn't too bad.......... but now ........ Price just keeps going up and up and up. Going to have to figure out where to make some cuts.

Changed my watching habits - if it is free on Amazon Prime then watch, if not, don't.

Tons to watch for free that I enjoy.
