Circumcision

Both of my boys are.
We never talked about it before they were born.
The morning after my 1st son was born, they came in and asked me if I wanted it. DH was not with me at the time, I had to call him and ask him. Figured he's got one, let him make the decision.

I worked in a nursing home for 3 years and a hospital for another 3 years. I have seen ALOT of un-circumcized ones and they can get pretty funky if not taked care of. But if proper hygene is taught there are no problems.

Whatever decision you make will be the right one.

I don't have strong feelings about it and would not presume to give advice to anyone IRL. It is becoming more of just a cosmetic procedure, though.

 sonofabitch I just ate. :surrender: Have I mentioned lately that I could NEVER be a nurse? :hides:

Thanks for your input so far, everyone! All things considered, I think I'm still leaning toward not doing it. DH doesn't really seem to care much one way or the other. I'm not sure what the common practice is around here (we've only been here a little over a year), but it's like 99% white, not really multicultural at all. My guess is that it's more common to do it than not. However, given the nature of DH's job, it's quite possible that we will be moving around a lot over the course of his career, so it's hard to guess where we might be when locker rooms and stuff are an issue. So, I'm reluctant to base a decision on that.

I know the risks are supposedly minimal, but they are there, and I'm hesitant to expose my baby to them unnecessarily. I guess I figure that if it needs to be done later, it can be, but the damage can't be undone if it gets botched.

Sorry I am going to be the vain one here.. but penis's that still have foreskin are ugly as all hell! IMO.

This is the same for me. I told my DH to make the decision.

where is mama of 22 quarts when you need her? She came in close contact with some unclean ones.....

Years ago, was shocked when I learned that most males are circumcised here in US. It's not a culture in Asia (except for Muslims, boys are circumcised at 10-12 years old when they completed their religious classes).

Some Muslims circumcise women too... but that's a whole other story.

can cookiemom make an uncircumsized cookie? Or would that just be a snake?

I've been around an uncut one and to me, it's the same when it's happy. Don't think I seen it when it was sad. Even so, not a big deal to me.

Penis's without them are ugly as all hell! :giggles:

No they aren't they are pretty mushroom heads...

Penis with foreskin look like worms... ew. I just threw up a little in my mouth.

AND If the guy doesn't take care of it... THEY SMELL BADLY!! Marinating in all that skin all day.. sweating and forming sch-magma now you want me to put my face down there!

HELLS TO THE NO!!

That's like a person on hoarders putting up a little tree in their stank car and saying it's clean. Just because they dont shower and keep a good grooming habits up and no smeg around his penis, he's still a filthy dirtbag.

Think of it this way, if he has foreskin and he's clean as a whistle, pretty sure the rest of him is well groomed too.

The only way he would be clean as a whistle would be to shower right before hand... if not there is no choice but to merinate as the sucker doesn't breath down there...

then again I make DH shower before he touches me anyways so (and vice versa) ... I guess it doesn't matter either way.. :giggles:
