Companionship I've always thought, is someone you like and hang out with, but the sex life / romance is non-existent. Personally I like it this way, prefer being unattached these days.
How about you? What are your views about companionship?
I think it encompasses both kinds of relationships.
The same way you can love a friend differently than you would love a significant other but at the end of the day, love is love no matter the kind.
Hmm. A companion is a valued friendship. In a way, they're closer than a lover as you know and love them without the need for physical intimacy. On the other hand, companions can go sexual if the couple's relationship becomes a long term relationship. This is what happened to me and I feel peaceful about it.
One thing I've learnt is age not a barrier if you really love someone. The world doesn't have to know. In fact, the world doesn't need to. Its down to living your lives in privacy and in bliss. For me, that sums up what companionship is really all about. What started out was friendship, but it grew deeper. And deeper still. My girl companion friend is older than I am, but a warm and intelligent person. We talk easily together, and because she's scientifically minded like me, we get on so brilliantly.
