Tonight I made the cookies that Mary posted a recipe for recently.

http://www.couponerswanted.com/showpost.php?p=842576&postcount=47

The first two trays I made a bit large and flat and the second batch I made smaller. I was kind of overestimating the 1" balls I guess. :giggles:

I tried one when it was still hot and it kind of had an odd texture. But when they cool - YUMMY! They remind me a bit of a shortbread cookie.

I'll be making a few bundt cakes tomorrow & will post a pic when I have the tray I'm taking to work assembled.

Thanks for posting the recipe Mary! I'm ashamed to say I think these were the first cookies I ever made truly from scratch. I don't think I've ever bought or used corn starch before. I appreciate the encouragement & I know the guys at work are gonna enjoy these on Monday. :hiphip:

awwww, shucks, Joan! I was worried they wouldn't be sweet enough

I LOVE the crumbly texture.... really simple, but really MELT IN YOUR MOUTHish!

I'm very glad you liked them and can't wait to see a picture! :huggy:

Thanks to everyone who shares their knowledge here! ♥♥♥

Don't turn this into a smutty thread Piggers! :snicker:

:faint: You're kidding?! :faint:

I've made cookies before but they pretty much start with a mix. I wasn't kidding when I said a while back that a 5lb bag of flour can last me a VERY long time. :giggles:

I made one tray with red sugar, one tray with green sugar and then two trays of smaller cookies with a mix of red and green sugar.

My boss's wife, who is pretty much also my boss, isn't crazy about things that are very sweet so I'm thinking she'll really like these. It's always nice to impress the boss. :cartwheel:

Re: Cookiemom is the Cookiemaster!

I just made these. They are the best!! A cross between shortbread and sugar cookies. I am not going to make sugar cookies this year. These cookies will be replacing them. Thank you so much for sharing. Now I know why you are COOKIEMOM:)

P.S. They are really pretty with the red and green sugar crystals mixed!!

Seriously! It's not all hype - Mary knows her stuff.

Here's what I'm bringing to work tomorrow -

2mfbrr.jpg

It's a chocolate macaroon bundt cake (the house smelled amazing while that was cooking!) surrounded by the Melting Moments cookies and Kisses with Almonds in the center of the cake.

I'm thinking the guys will be happy to see me tomorrow.

That looks really pretty. Wish I could taste the cake, sounds interesting.

Thanks. It's killing me to know how the cake turned out. :surrender: At least I was able to taste test the cookies. Kind of hard to do that with a cake (although I realized too late I should have at least made a cupcake of it.)

Here's a link to the recipe - http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...colate+macaroon+cake&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

I just topped the cake with powdered sugar instead of the glaze they suggest. I figured it's much easier to transport with sugar than a sticky glaze.

It's a lovely presentation Joan! Your peeps will be thrilled:hiphip:

You might have to start bringing treats regularly :)

I'm so glad you like the cookies, nickle!!!!!! I love to share favorite recipes :huggy: and well, the finished product as well!

So pretty Joan! I think I need to try to make those cookies at some point too. Sounds like my kind of cookie :)
