I'm starting another thread on CS, but this one is for CS talk. So, anyone got some good strategies for playing CS? I'm kinda new, and I'm getting my butt kicked, rather severely. I want to know what the best tips at game play are. Also, I want to hear good strategies for the boards.

The best way to kill is to go for the head. To be more accurate you have to fire in bursts. I practiced goin for the head by playing with just pistol's for a while. To hit anything you have to have good aim and then you use the aiming skill to focus on the head. The best way to get good(which i dont consider myself to be) is to play a lot. Another stratagy is to use cover and re-load every safe chance you get. That way you always have a full clip for those times when you have to kill three enimies real quick like.

Never blindly rush into anywhere.
That always kills me, and I consider myself to be a pretty good player. 4 out of 5 games I'm at the top of the scores list. Headshots? Nah. I Don't concentrate on that. I figure my best bet is to make it hard to hit my head and fire as many bullets into his general direction as I can. It's all about keeping mobile so you don't fall prey to those nasty headshots. Unless you're sniping with the Scout, I wouldn't bother getting good with those things unless you have a low ping and want to show off. But I have a low ping, and a score of 30-1 is enough for show-and-tell for me.
I will also comment that moving in teams is good, and not to underestimate grenades.
If you are low on money, don't buy a cheap gun like the MP5. Buy up armor, an HE grenade, and bullets for your pistol. Then pick up a gun when somebody dies. HE grenades work well in tight spaces.

the mp5 is my weapon of choice.. i can run around and get 4-5 guys (depends on the skills of the other players) w/ the mp5... it's accurate at mid ranges. A gun like the AK is harder to control.. bursts of 3-4 rounds are the best.. the 5th round just goes any which way. Colt.. deadly at close ranges.. i love it cuz i use it to snipe at snipers(you can use the ak to do the same).. what else.. oh.. para.. never ever buy this gun or pick it up.. YOU WILL DIE HOLDING IT... i can use a pistol and easily take out a guy w/ a para..
I do alright with the Para. I dont normaly use it but I dont mind pickin it up and whoopin some @$$ with it. It does slow you down a lot though.
