Custom Rig or Bought?

AMD's are not better than Pentium 4's. I've personally had both and AMD's overall performance doesn't even come close.

yes and p4 are more expensive but in the long run if your cpu fan fails the p4 will slow itself down to avoid it being shutdown or burnout as for amd's burnout and sometims have cought fire..
this was tested by a bunch of geeks hehehe.

Dameon, are you getting the computer from Firestorm? If so, you choosing the wide screen moniter? LOL

Anyways, I got a bought computer, a early 2000 Gateway model, running at 1ghz (AMD Athalon). It originally had a GeForce2, but I got a GeForce4 64mb (that's all I really need) in December, except it was made with AGP as well, or some company like that. It also had only 64MB of RAM, but I got 256 more, so I'm at over 300 now, lol (not much, but it was my first comp that I bought).

Next one for me is going to be custom, with a black tower (high gloss), and a big question mark cut out with a green light inside, since I go by The Riddler at the site I mainly visit (RCT2, as well as the defunct RCT Station :().

Yup.

what does the 'high gloss' mean? but i like the sound of the question mark :)

?

High Glossy... like looking supa smooth/shiny... or something like that. But realizing this is a gaming site, you probably already knew what that meant (at least I hope you did), so yeah.

I bought a custom designed one from Ibuypower, and I like a lot more than any standard computer (I have an old HP as well).

CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2400+ 2000MHz
Motherboard: MSI KT4VL
Memory: 512 MB
Video Card: Nvidia -4 MX 440 (Nvidia GEFORCE)
Hard Drive: Ultra ATA 100/133 80.0 GB @ 7200 RPMS
Monitor: ViewSonic E95
DVD
CDR/CDRW
Sound Card: On Board
Operating System: Windows XP
See through case.

I have only had one computer since I got interested in them, It was pre-packaged not custom built. I don't normally play PC games anyway, so yeh.

Specs:

AMD Athlon 1.4ghz
40GB HD
256 MB Memory
Nvidea GeForce
Creative SoundBlaster

It does the job, I don't know much about specs.

Thats hot! I always build.. best way to get exactly what you want.

For all you people who would never build a PC but are into gaming, there are excellent options. IMO the two best are: Alienware Area-51, and Dell Dimension XPS.
