they even slapped some compaq windows 9x updates in there for good measure along with some security updates and whatnot.

if it breaks again, i'm throwing it out the nearest window. i kid you not. it doesn't help to have 'lings surrounding you either asking millions of insane questions.

"what is this?" "why does it zip?" "rub-a-dub-dub." "i want ice cream." "i'm not mad at mommy."

all of this is being said while she's wrapping a shoelace around my head.

you know, my comcrap comes w/this "service connection" thing that i never used. maybe that's why i'm having so many problems lately.

Since it's Compaq, I would say that you're never going to get it running in "peak condition". But, you should be able to get by without a BSOD every 5 minutes.

&lt;off topic rant&gt;I believe that he knew because those cursed things NEVER work. My residnets figured out that I am deacent with computers and so they love to ask me to fix the when they break. In almost all cases it is a comcrak prisario that is broken, and we wont even go into the one that my mom has that crashed 12 times in like 5 months. Stupid compaq &lt;/off topic rant&gt;

Anyway Hopefully it works after the driver update. If that doesnt work then you may want to try the baseball bat theory Ive heard it works wonders on a computer.
