My home pc is. It died yesterday before I left for work. I knew it was on it's last leg. I've been getting all kind of hardware failures etc.. So I ordered all new stuff while at lunch to bulid a new computer yesterday from Newegg and I just got done putting it together. Vista is a bit odd but I like it.

All my porn is gone


again :(
 
I thought this was going to be a thread about posting.

Sorry about your pc Kyppy, but just think of all the new porn you can discover with your new computer.

Theres really a lot of software that doesn't run well in vista and the drivers are jacked for most hardware. The software and hardware companies have known for years about vista and really weren't ready, **** suckers

I haven't even bothered to try and load most my games. At this point I don't need that headache. The graphics card JUST came out with MS certified drivers but there still buggy. As long as you don't go and try to install **** it's really cool looking.

I should have just bought XP, I may still go back to XP but since I had to install a OS I just had to see the train wreck :p

My old laptop use to keep crashing on me. This past summer the thing pretty much blew up (it was still pretty new, less than 3 years old) but I had bought a 200 GB external hard drive. Best thing I ever did. Transfering stuff to the new comp was easy...and its a great place to stash the good stuff ;)

I had a feeling this it was going to die pretty soon so I copied all the real important stuff onto dvd's


just not the porn, I don't know what I was thinking
 
Feanors Quick Tip of the Day: If you cant remember when you last back up your porn, its time to do it now.
 
I don't think I have ever made any sort of effort to back-up or insure the safety of my pron on any computer.

Well now the only draw back is lack of good drivers for gaming. I don't play to many on the computer anymore but about 1/2 work the other 1/2 doesn't.


So far besides the high end gaming drivers, lack of. I like vista way more than XP. I really like XP but Vista is far better.

Well Vista Ultimate vs XP Pro. Theres like 3 or 4 other version of vista and I don't know what they are missing compared to Ultimate.

Vista is not better...but i can see why some people like it more.

The only things besides internet,email porn :p Is gaming and buring CD's. Now burning CD's is far faster but I don't credit that to vista, I mark that one up to new hardware vs what I had before.

Like I said have my games work and half don't. Now those that do work there is a 20-30% fps hit on vista but that to be expected with vista just coming out.

XP itself ( the OS alone ) didn't run anything faster or more stable that 98/me, infact no version of windows has every run software faster than the version before on it's release.

One thing I really like is how Vista handles ram. XP rarely let go of most the memory it used when it was done with it. After boot up on Vista I use about 500Mb, I can open a ton of stuff a load up my page file and ram then after I close programs down it releases the memory back.

I think thats everything
 
Some after market case fans added on, some new software.


I hate IE7, it sucks.

Windows defender suck a big one too. That will be relaced by zonealarm when they release a vista version
 
Yet again they released a ****ty built in defrag.

but one shocker to me is I expected the sidebar and all the Aero **** to just eat up a ton of ram but it doesn't use all that much, actually ver little. Right now IE7 is using 58MB the next biggest thing is the sidebar at only 12mb. Even the the active video background wallpaper uses very little imo.

I'm holding off on buying any new games till the drivers get up to par but thats not Vista/Microsofts fault, thats Amd-Ati and Nvidias fault, they write the drivers, they knew Vista was coming for the last 5 years. They are the ones I'm not happy with
