Senators do not fair well in the run for presidential office and they know it. Most continue on as lifetime members of the senate.
Goveronors are the jobs that prime peopel for the presidency. They're both executive positions the only thing that changes is the size of the territory governed.
I'm not 100% sure, but in modern times I beleive that the rate for successful presidency bids for a senator is 0% and if I'm wrong it's by at MOST 1%
That's encouraging however Hillary is a forceful presence and I don't intend to relax until the day AFTER the 2008 elections. lenny has put it well - "just pray it don't get ugly".
I never got past her face. After all that is what we will be seeing the most and I don't clump women into "meat" categories. That is best left to the butcher!
We will need a good woman on our side, Mrsd. Someone to keep us in line especially when we hit the beaches in Hawaii. Know any willing to travel with us?
Mage what you tend to ignore though is that before 1994... how long was the democratic party in power?
All the Hullabaloo about the president and recenlt policies is garbage. What it boils down to is the Dem's threw a hissy fit because after 40 years they were out of the pwoer they covet so much.
In my opinion they're employ the same scare tactics and are just as corrupt as the Republican party.
They don't give a CRAP about you or anyone they supposedly represent. Big oil and Haliburton are simply going to be replaced by the 527 group, congolomerated media, and the finance sectors, both itnernational and domestic.
They use the cause of social equality and liberalism to line their pockets just as greedily as the republicans use the corporations. They dupe their constituency just as bad, but they have better PR so the sheep actually THANK them for doing it.
At least the Republicans tell you, "You goin' get ****ed" wehreas the Dems just kinda pop it in on you...
