I just had a grandmother stop into our office to sell me a 20.00 card for her grandson for football. I kindly told her no because we already had 4 neighborhood kids hit us up for this and we never even use any of the discounts. Our schools have not started yet. We were talking about life in general..... in comes her grandson says " did she buy1?", "if not lets go you told mom that we would get them sold today". And walked out and sat back in the van....
I said to her is her the one that needs to sell these? yes and we have not sold any yet.

UMMMMMMM... he sits his **** in the van you drive around to all the businesses YOU try to sell these for the kid and he treats you like this?
I said to her just maybe he should go into the shops and try to sell them not you. Her answer is he is to shy for that.

Yep I can tell he is going far in life..
(as long as someone wipes his ****)

I buy those from my neighbor's teen boys who play football, but they come over themselves and ask. I consider it a straight up donation since I never use the card either.

I make my kids do their own soliciting.........not that there's much. Their school doesn't have fundraisers. The only one they do is Jump Rope for Heart.

I have a deal with my friends, when we get these things our kids are supposed to sell, we have the kids try and then when we're desperate we call each other.

I remember working and people would have the sheets in the office for you to order girl scout cookies or whatever. I just couldn't do it and was slinking by their desk hoping not to get accosted for not ordering!

You could always get a NO SOLICITATIONS sign for your business and avoid it that way.

Doesn't sound shy to me..... sounds like a rude little ****

I had a teenager approach me in the Jewel parking lot the other night. Big guy, in the dark empty parking lot. Pulled the card out of his pocket. Kinda scared me for a second. Politely said no and moved along. Really he shouldn't be wandering around the dark parking lot trying to sell his cards!

no we dont do school or pta fundraisers but we do things like boyscouts and now that shortys in the band they are doing a rock-a-thon asking people for a flat $10 donation and were doing that one so we do extra corricular ones but not 'school level' ones

Thats just it I would be more willing to buy IF the kid comes in themselfs even if the parent is sitting in the car but he sat in the car and she was trying to sell them for him.
We already bought 4 of them and have never used 1 discount but the kids have to come not parents.

I know when I worked at Kraft it seamed like EVERYONE always was selling stuff for thier kids, one lady I worked with could just never say no.. she spent on average 100.00 a week!!!! Her DH would get pissed but she just could not say no.. He her DH made a formal complaint to Kraft about it and ALL sales were qucikly put to a hault... as soon as that was rule people just seemed to get along better.... I hate things like this..
I have 2 SIL's that sell stuff 1 sells Mary kay the other sells candles or what ever hits her that week I have NEVER had a party and never will I will not invite my friends over to beg for them to buy ****..

agreed

I love what all of the parents with daughters did this year for the cookies. There was one sheet to order and then all of the girls split the orders evenly. They had more orders than ever and all of the girls were happy. In years past the first parent to request got most of the orders and most girls got none.

:faint:

I don't think I've ever seen swearing in Mayberry :giggles:

I kinda like it :snicker:

That's as Aunt Bea-like as I get about rude kids! :hurt:AND the adults who let them get away with it! :hurt:

I can see a mom or dad taking something to work to sell for their little ones, but to have the kid SITTING in THE VAN, while his grandma did the selling?!?!? :faint:

PLUS it sounds like the kid didn't even say Hi, Mrs. Andystowing when he walked in (maybe he did)..... that's another thing that makes me crazy... kids right there in front of you who don't have the decency to say a simple, polite "hello". :gah: He just walked in and told gma Let's Go! :hurt: :hurt: :hurt:

Yes you can call me Little **** it is better then some of the names I hear..

And you are right the kid never said hi or even looked at me justsmart assed asked his grandma "did she buy1?"

I'm pretty sure that the fundraiser for DS's preschool is included in the tuition. If you are already forking out $5k what's another $100? I rather pay than deal with selling the crap.

 well still, we sure WON'T do that! :huggy:

AHA! I knew it!!! HOPE, HOPE, HOPE she doesn't let his rude little **** get away with it :gah:

Yes, I said "****" :bowing: I am a wild woman today :party6:

I hate fundraisers. And school just started!

Is the grandmother a friend or acquaintance of yours or was a cold call sale?
