Very cute!

Here's Sophie with the hood down.

I don't have any pics but we used to have a pom that loved to be dressed in baby girl dresses. She loved to be swaddled. Lol I do have a pic of her in my nieces doll stroller swaddled. My niece would push her up and down the hallway. Silly dog loved it

I thought this said you used to have a porn, and I was very afraid of what the rest would say.

Why do they only make the really cute stuff for little dogs? It's the same way with Women's plus size. :tap:

Here's an oldie but goodie - granted it's not really clothes but more of a costume but ...

FYI I showed DH this guy and he likes:

Gramm is a handsome rich colored dog who is gentle, interactive and playful. He walks on a leash well with some pulling, due to so many smells! With some work he would do excellent. He is very attentive and looks at you when unsure of things. He seemed curious, but may be intimidated by larger dogs. He is quite relaxed and enjoys laying down for belly rubs. We believe some training has been done with him previously since he knows "Sit" and "Down". He is a wonderful dog, and we hope he finds his forever home soon!

OMG. We saw the most beautiful Pitty at Petco over the weekend. He was HUGE and SOOO friendly! Such a lover...If I didn't already have 3 dogs, a cat and a tortoise...I would have been all over him!

and i'm not that big of a fan of pitties :hides:
Not because of stereotypes...I just find other pups cuter thru my eyes.

Be sure he and Sadie have a meet & greet first if you're actually considering this. He's beautiful!

No need to hide. That's a good reason. :girl:

I like pitbulls. One was a "nanny" to nephew when he was a baby/toddler, living with my sister. I'm sure she's the reason he was as safe as he was with them, they lived in terrible areas with druggie friends, etc.

But they are dog-aggressive. I doubt a rescue pit would be safe around your dog you already have MrsMom.

That's simply not true. It may be true for some of them but it's not fair to generalize like that.

We had Chloe for about a year when we adopted Samantha. Sami was about 2 years old and we adopted her from the local shelter. Sami was a pitbull. She and Chloe became the best of pals - no aggression shown on Sami's part. Ever.

Chloe was about 13 when I adopted crazy Sophie. While Sophie has many problems with people, she loves dogs. She was possessive of treats so I had to limit those when they were together (I'd usually give them to Sophie in the crate.)

Dogs are individuals.
Labeling an entire breed as something is just not fair or accurate.

Ok, off the soapbox now and off to work.

I would absolutely, positively not bring an unknown rescue pit into a family of typical household dogs. And I am not afraid of dogs.

It's not fair to try to make people think they aren't dog-aggressive. They are. That doesn't mean I don't like them. But people not understanding (hiding) the realities of the breed are why so many are destroyed every year, and why so many are in need of homes.

What exactly is a "typical household dog"? A dog from a pet shop? A dog from a breeder? Being a "rescue dog" is not a bad thing. Doesn't mean there was anything wrong with the dog. Doesn't mean the dog was part of a dog fighting ring or a stray roaming the streets. Just means that dog now needs a home for whatever reason.

If there's concern - foster the dog first and get to know that dog.

All dogs are individuals. Lumping them into a category because of their breed (or in many cases their assumed breed) is ...so many possibilities here but I'm just gonna go with...lazy.

Anyone who's actually interested - check out this FB page. Sarge was an elderbull who was part of this family's pack of dogs. They've got a whole mess of dogs - including pitties - and they all get along wonderfully. This family has a wonderful outlook on dogs.

Here's some of their pack:

My grandmother was given a dog by a neighbor who was aggressive with her other dogs, wasn't a pit. She finally got rid of him. he just wasn't meant to be in a house with other dogs.

The dog is adorable! I would just ask how he has adapted there at the shelter with the other dogs. After finding out, as Joan Marie says, have Sadie and him meet. Only way to be sure if they will like one another.

I agree that it's heartbreaking to see what some dogs go through, but at the same time it's amazing to see that they don't completely give up on humanity and are still willing to love and trust and live as part of a family.

There are so many of the michael asshat vick dogs that are now living wonderful lives. Living with other dogs (including regular old family dogs - whatever the hell that is) babies, children, etc. I love reading their stories on FB.

Exactly. You have to get to know each dog as an individual. Fosters & rescues are great with that information and shelters try to get to know the dogs as best as possible.
