so one thing i cant stand: parents who bring their kids to R movies. its fkin annoying first off to have the little kid there so you cant cuss in front of them. well i cant any how. i guess those morals are engrained too much. besides, if you ever do let profanity slip, your friends beat the living crap out of you, or if all else fails, the parents will shoot you poisonous looks. i usually shoot it right back at them by saying "what the hell are you looking at me like that for, dont take your kid to the movie with you"

i understand once you have a kid, you still want to have your social life. kids and social lives dont coexist with eachother. its impossible. you should have fk'n thought of that before you had your baby.

now lets enjoy the movie. oh wait. no. cant do that yet! the baby has decided to cry. and the parent, being stubborn probably thinks "oh she'll stop crying in a second, besides im really enjoying this movie." finally after 5 minutes, and people whispering light shush's, they move. the whole time every single person is sitting impatiently muttering cusswords, keeping down the horrible things they want to say to the parent. or perhaps shake the baby like a british nanny.

or how bout toddlers who will be ****ed up for life because they saw a guy get shot in the head. wtf. but oooohh no. toddlers are curious. they ask questions. about everything. "whats happening mommy" "what are they doing mommy" "whats sex?" shoot me please.

just thought i would bash it

mm...great first post. i can't stand kids in movies, nevermind just R movies (must admit i've never seen that :) ). i remember when i went to see one of the LOTR movies, we got there kinda late (only 20 minutes early for one of the first shows lol), and the theatre was pretty much packed except some seats at the front. i was with a bunch of friends and we sat in the front row. movie starts and a couple come in with a carriage and an usher. the usher kicked 2 of my friends out of their seats because this woman had to have a seat beside the aisle for the carriage. then the kid cries the whole movie 'cuz people are dying on screen every 10 minutes and there are freaky monsters and the mom just sat there watching the movie. suffice to say we were uber-pissed. i feel your pain esadatari and will contribute a huge bash on behalf of me and my friends :).

Man! I must say that has never happened to me for any movie. But if it did I would be extremely mad. Movie theatres are where people go to get away from crying babies. If you want to see a movie, be considerate and high a sitter.

That being said, I know my sister has taken her baby to the movies before. But, her and her husband make a deal and designate one of them to be in charge of taking the baby out of the theatre the moment it gets fussy. Plus, they usually go to the midnight show on the last week the movie is in theatres so that the baby is asleep, and there are very few people there. I think after her husband missed more than half the movie twice, they stopped going. Plus, the kids are toddlers now and have lost the ability to sleep through a film.

Lol I have to admit it really annoys me too when that happens luckily it doesnt happen to often but hwy do you have to refer to them shaking their babaies as britsih...please im from britian lol although i hate my country lol!

Definitely a great first post! :welcome:
And boy do i agree with you! The first time I saw the Matrix, an 8 year old sat directly next to me, with his father on the other side... and I dont know if everyone here has seen the first matrix... but it would be a scary movie for an 8 yearold. This kid FREAKED out was kicking and whining... and the father just ignored him.. i was ready to take the child out of the theater myself... ::sheesh

WELCOME! As said, EXCELLENT FIRST POST! EXACTLY what the Bash is all about!

I have a 3 year old (well, in 2 months he is 3), and my wife go out of our way to make sure he behaves! I WOULD NEVER TAKE HIM TO A PG MOVIE AT THIS AGE, let alone a Rated R! When he was little, if he cried, either my wife or I RAN OUT of the place we were in, because we always hated crying babies when we were single. The only exception is when we are at a "family restaurant". Sorry, but Diners in NY are "Family Restaurants", and I hate it when I get "the look" from people when my son is maybe walking around- like I said, we never let him go wild. Reminds me.... now I am going to make a BASH! :eusa_danc

Gotta say I've never been to a movie where there was a really small child. That's totally unacceptable. I DO despise it when you pay good money to go to a movie, and there are a bunch of unruly 11, 12 or 13-year-olds out on their own, being very loud and vulgar and giving away all the story lines. I have actually gone to the management of the theater and demanded my money back. I make a scene. It's just not fair to have to PAY to see the movie and be subjected to that level of ignorance.

I am an avid movie goer, I see at least 3 new films a month somtimes more. I love cinema and I have run into this problem many times. The trick is put up a big stick about it after the film and they will comp you a ticket next time. At this point Im on a first name basis with most of the staff at the theater I attend and get in free alot anyway, but they still give me free popcorn or somthing if I have to sit though that. Also lately they have not been allowing children into R movies even with thier parents as this particular theater has gotten so many complaints. Seriously R should me NO one under the age of at least 16 sould be allowd in even if with a parent or guardian!! THATS THE PRICE YOU PAY FOR HAVING KIDS, you have to do "Kid" stuff. No more late night parties for you. That part of your life is over. You don't have to have a kid. Don't subject the rest of us to your parental nightmare! GET A SITTER!!!!!!!! Oh and on the same lines but not the same bash, I hate it when my friends who Im meeting befor the movie show up late with the excuse, "Oh we only missed the previews" This is why I see movies ALONE!!! Also I hate it when they go get food half way though and come back and ask me what they missed. I respond with, no im not gonna tell you you should have gotten hear on time and got food when I DID. AND WHATS THE DEAL WITH 4 DOLLARS FOR A SODA!!! ITS FREAKING 99c at the corner store!!!!!

That's why I buy soda at the store and sneak it into the theatre in my coat, or purse in the summer.

My brother has a policy of "no seat saving," because his friends used to show up late all the time and expect him to have saved them good seats, since he always gets there in good time. So, now my brother just goes gets his good seat and lets the theatre fill up around him, and if his friends are late, he'll meet up with them after the movie.

i was born just outside of oxford :D besides! i was making an allusion to family guy.

oh, sicander, about your friends showing up later, during the previews.. i could just kill my friends when they do that lol.

thanks for the first post compliment :D

You guys are talking about kids and babies. I'v never had a problem with either making a fuss. What I have had a problem with is teenagers talking, laughing and joking through the movie. As for swearing, I don't want to hear you swearing never mind my kids.

I know, EXBRIT - my worst experiences are with young teenagers. The swearing thing is definitely the young teens - they are out without parents in a peer setting, and all bets are off.

The worse thing i've see on this..and I wasent even at the movie. I was at the theater watching something..dont remember what and walk out to use the bathroom..and see a kid had to be around 6 walk out of The Passion of the Christ. Please people this had to be the bloodiest movie of last year it was watching 2 hours of someone getting tortured, you let your kids watch this but you wont let them watch Harry Potter because "magic is of the devil"?

lol ok most of my generation do tend yo swear and act annoying in movies...but please don't think were all like that...

as for the child thing that's the stupiest thing I've heard. parents are depriving their children of fun and bringing them up horrbily *sigh*
