not sure if this should be in general tech or here, but whatever.

i want to capture a frame from a dvd from my dvd-rom drive. anyone know how? printscreen returns a purple box

You won't be able to use PrntScrn because DVD player software uses an overlay.

Depending on your DVD player software, some can do image captures. I'm using PowerDVD, and it has this functionality built in.

Of course, to make the image look decent, you'll probably have to use Photoshop to clean it up, but I just did it, and it came out looking okay.
