What do you guys think about a Euroleague? Some have complained that the bigger teams (United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Madrid, Barca, etc.) are always winning their respective leagues that it's time to create a euroleague. A "Champions League" if you will but in a season long format.

I am opposed to it. Domestic fans do not want a European League, we are already losing the soul of the game and this would be the final nail in the coffin. The game is dominated by money and the fans do not matter.

Would be really against it.

European football must be earned not just given because you are currently successful. Why should the likes of Man City be allowed in when they have just got lucky and got a very rich owner, when clubs such as Aston Villa, Everton, Sunderland and to an extent Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday not get in - when all the clubs have a richer, more succesful history than City.

What is the point of that? The Europa Cup and Champion's League were created to put Europe's top teams against each other for a winner take all championship of European football. Who would want their team to travel to Italy one week, Ukraine the next, then Monaco, etc? It would be such an annoyance.

To be honest I'd be all for it, let them bugger off and play in their own master league! Hopefully we could then make league football more competitive and entertaining ( abit like the Championship, which was ridiculous high viewing figures for a second league! )

Actually, I think this would be pretty interesting. There would be a lot more competition facing each other and what not.

So clubs should be allowed to compete in Europe by virtue of their 'history'? Typical Villa fan.

No they should EARN the right in that particular season - Im just saying just because a team is currently succesful shouldnt mean they go into a superleague thats closed to anyone else?

SO what should be the qualification criteria, how many Cups the club won in the 80's?

The Euro League will be a money league, the clubs with the biggest revenues will be in.

Exactly - If this had happened 3 years ago Man City WOULDNT be in it. If it happened 12 ish years ago Chelsea WOULDNT be in it. You should qualify for these by your performances on the pitch. Not because your current owner is rich! And it shouldnt be a closed league either - there should be a way for other teams to qualify!
