Just Corel...
...and another thing I just remembered - if I wipe my hard drive, I'm gonna lose a few gigs of mp3s...unless I can go flog my cousin's CD burner.

A great example of why one should partition their hard drive and organize their data accordingly.
If your hard drive is more than just a C:, then you can simply copy those MP3s to another partition, format only the C: drive, and you'll be able to install the OS fresh without losing all of that other stuff.

How does one partition one's hard drive?
You need to use the FDISK utility.
Be careful when doing this, however, because you will lose any data on the entire disk.
To be technically correct to what hermanm explained, you have to partition the drive BEFORE formatting, since the FORMAT utility needs a drive letter to format, and the drive letters are assigned by partition. But since they're usually done one immediately followed by the other, prior to OS installation, it can be said that they're done at the same time.
The FDISK utility is pretty straightforward. It's a menu-driven utility, and you just tell it what partition structure you want, and it sets it up for you. You then reboot, format each partition, and install the OS to the partition of your choosing, although Win9x is picky about being installed on anything but the first primary partition.

Well, you need to partition the drive when you're formatting it, so it's kinda late for that now
but would be a good idea to do next time.
I could probably partition a drive by the seat of my pants if I had to, but I don't know the steps off the top of my head....maybe BRiT or DD can walk ya through it.
