I recently moved and in the process of unpacking I've discovered 4 flashdrives and 2 external drives.  I was curious, how do you guys use these devices? What do you store on them?  I know I can use these to really organize my digital files but I haven't started and am looking for ideas of the best way to organize them. ::) hate to just click and drag everything into one external drive for example with intentions of organizing them later.  Knowing me, I would never get to it. lol

I don't use a Flash Drive much in my every day life because if I need access to files or don't want to lose a certain file such as a resume I store it in my Google Drive.

However, since I am a computer technician I do tend to have a Flash Drive on me that I might put some useful tools on to help me at work and such. Otherwise I don't really use them.

Also if you don't mind me asking....what size are those flash drives?

Using them for backing up your data is a requirement. You never know when your computer bites the dust. Retrieving data from discs can take a lot longer to do so, apart from size limitations. It's absolutely pointless to use discs as backups, unlike external hard drives.

Anyway, if you're not the kind of person to easily trust the cloud with sensitive information, then you absolutely need to get your physical storage devices in place. I'd never trust a third party with my data.

I guess I trust technology a lot more than the average joe probably because I understand how it all works and it doesn't scare me at all I could possibly lose a Physical device or could break when I actually need it.

You just need to do proper research on a company that you use for cloud backup :)

I trust technology. I just don't trust the people holding my stuff. The cloud is prone to hacking, too.

Your physical device can be stolen ;)
