I was looking through the bargain bin at EB yesterday and I found FS2 for 20 bucks, which surprised me, because it's still a pretty new game, and a **** good space sim. Anyway, I bought it, played a few of the single player missions, and decided to get onto PXO (Parallax Online, multiplayer service for the Descent games). No response from the **** thing. I waited 10 minutes and I got nothing, not even a notice telling me that a server was down or anything. I tried auto-updating, but I guess I couldn't make the connection to that server either, and it still didn't give me a notice that it was down after another 10 minutes. So, I downloaded the latest patch manually (ugh, how old-fashioned!) from 3dfiles.com, and tried connecting to PXO again. Same problem. I decided to visit the PXO website, and I couldn't get to it. I assume that all of PXO is down, although that seems a bit dumb, because I doubt they'd place the Auto-update, website, and gaming service on the same server... Anyway, for any of you guys out there who play Descent 3, Freespace, or Freespace 2 out there: is PXO down often?
