When I was a child in Tennessee, I raised chickens for 4-H. But comically, but not so for the chickens, things went wrong. They went blind and shook their heads all the time. Must have been some disease. Anyway, I'm wondering if it could have been preventable.
No, I’ve never personally raised chickens but I’m sure it would be very handy to have chickens if you wanted to get free eggs. Although it wouldn’t be free as you’d have to pay to care for the chickens to keep laying. Having said that you would be able to have chicken for dinner once they’ve served their purpose! Thinking practically of course.

We normally bring in around one to two dozen eggs per day. Personally, I'm not too fond of chickens, they're very dirty critters, but they will definitely feed you when you're hungry.

I have in the past visited places that have raised chickens and have learned a lot about raising chickens but I have never had the want to have my own and raise them. I guess it would be great if you did have the ability to do so as you would either have eggs for yourself or you could even sell eggs as a business as well.
