Pretty cool.
My first concern was "Does it support all of the major APIs", but it supports all of them and then some.
I don't really like the idea of the external box compared to the Live Drive from Creative Labs, but I could see how that might be a bonus for some people.
The bottom line is price. They say it's $50 cheaper than a Live Platinum, but we all know that lower list price doesn't always mean lower street price (although it usually does).
A quick search of Pricewatch shows that I got my Live Platinum 5.1 for $30 cheaper than the lowest price of this product.
Other than a cheaper street price once this product gains popularity, I don't really see any particularly compelling reasons to choose this product over an SB Live Platinum.
However, if street prices drop lower, it will be an excellent alternative to the SB Live Platinum, although I don't see either product really standing head and shoulders above the other.
Price being equal, it looks like a toss-up to me.
