Just found out my nephew is driving in from TN this weekend for a 1 day visit. He is really needing his family right now. He is stressing about his deployment.

Now I'm going... Oh crap! I need to get some stuff put together for him to take back to the troop and their families.

UGH!

Help me out ladies. What are some good quick things I can through together? I am thinking pudding packs for their kiddies. Y'all know how much I love kids!

I would think and food that travels well (fruit snacks, granola bars, candy, etc.) and travel sized HBA items.

toiletries are good for the troups, right (toothbrushes, floss, bandaids) and maybe gum, mints, playing cards, dice, magazines. someone i know said those little packets of crystal light drink mix were a hit, too

Thanks everyone! Keep it coming! I thought I had a few weeks. He's coming back mid May for a longer visit. But this way I can send stuff back on 2 trips!

Anyone who was talking about adopting his troop... Let me know if you want me to pick anything up from you for them.

I'm gonna send stuff home for their families too... TP & PT...

Did you get any of the card games at Target when they were 25c or so? Those would be good for the kids or even the troops for something to do when they have some down time. I have also heard things like sunflower seeds, nuts, jerky and wipes for the troops. I know my cousin asked for small Matchbox/Hotwheels cars to share with the kids over there. Good luck!

A lot of the lists I've seen list baby wipes. And snack type stuff. Also, are there any women in his troop? I've heard it's really hard for them to get pad/tampons and most people usually forget that stuff thinking it's all guys.

If you have the $2/1 or the $5/2 Visine coupons you can get some travel size Visine at CVS for free. They're hanging near the front registers or in the trial size area.

Enjoy the time with your nephew Georgie - I'm sure the party will be great! :hiphip:
