I need a good book to read. I usually vary in taste and enjoy a book that will captivate your imagination. So if you guys got any suggestions I sure would like to hear them. I need to expand my mind.

wow, I haven't thought about the Shanara series in a dog's age. Those were the books with titles like The Sword of Shanara, The Stone of Shanara etc., right? I think the authors were Terry Brooks and Margaret Weiss. I could be wrong about the authors, but that's what I seem to remember.

my eyes, the goggles do nothing
If you like humorous books by English writers in a style similar to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, then you should like Good Omens, by Neil Gaiman (Sandman comics etc.) and Terry Pratchett. A very funny book about an angel, a devil and armageddon. Somewhat like the film Dogma only more of a straight comedy.

A warning about the Shanara stuff: at times, it can seem sorta like childish writing, at least I thought it did, but the story is really, really good. In fact, there's a new book coming out in the series called The Jerle Witch. I told my mom that I want it for Christmas

You could try Les Miserables...that's a really good book..but only in my opinion...it's pretty long..if you like long books....it's by Victor Hugo!! Otherwise...I can't think of any at the moment..in class we just finished reading "Lord of the Flies" A little disgusting at times, can be boring, and has a "different" ending! You could check that out if you wanted to! I don't really know you guys' personalities so it's hard for me to recommend books to ya!!!
Hrm..I liked The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I went kinda cross-eyed reading it at times, but Hugo is a very good author. I have Les Mis sitting up in my room somewhere, unread.
