I am a pro, and rely on this for my income full time, so my answer is, while I am capable of switching to discs instantly, I do keep a spare lappy...then my problem would just be replacing the spare. Redundancy is the friend of the pro. I dont have "one" of anything that can shut me down...

Well I don't depend on this as my main source of income, but even I know enough to not keep one of anything if I can help it. I even have a backup pair of speakers that i normally wouldn't be caught dead with now, but could use if my speakers crapped out during a show. I also have a desktop computer that could easily be used instead of my laptop.

I don't know how much money i've spent on cords, but every time i need new ones, i ALWAYS buy two sets.

Saved my behind a few times..
