I put my sweet geriatirc dog in a pair of purple diapers this morning and had the nerve to laugh at the poor thing. I just couldn't help myself. She looks so silly. :giggles:
Not sure how effective they'll be but I guess I'll find out at lunchtime. They almost seemed to weigh her down but I'm hoping she can get used to walking around with them on. I bought a pack of two re-usable diapers at Petsmart this weekend and used a sanitary pad with them. The one I put in this morning was a little long so I may have to cut them in the future.
I really hope this works. (and that she'll forgive me)
I was afraid of what I'd find when I went home for lunch but...it was a success! :dance:She was standing at the top of the steps lookin a little sad but the diaper was still on and there was nothing dripping or falling out of it. I took it off and found a load of crap but no pee. Took her and Sophie outside where she peed.
I didn't put a diaper on her when I left - that may or may not be a mistake but we'll see.
Not sure if she'll ever let me put it on her again but I'm planning to try it again tomorrow morning.
So far the diapers have been a success. (I should have put it back on her yesterday afternoon since I came home to a puddle. :surrender
I put them on her this morning and when I took it off at lunch - all dry! She went out and peed at lunch and I managed to get them back on her before I had to leave.
So far, so good. I do have to get some smaller pads. Yesterday I didn't cut it and it came out of the diaper about 3-4 inches worth. I cut it today so it would be a little less sticky.
My 1 year old, blind poodle mix doesn't know when the appropriate time to potty is, so we got him belly wraps. My dh told me if the dog didn't stop peeing all over the house, he was going to put him down. I would have liked to put down dh first, but the pee smell was awful.
BTW, one time we moved the living room furniture around and found that Milo was walking into things. Talk about awful, the first few times we actually laughed, then moved the furniture back.
