Took my mom to the vascular surgeon yesterday to have her sutures removed and when I looked at them one of the incisions was infected! These incisions are in her groin area and she can not see them.
I had been staying at her house back and forth for the first three weeks after surgery....home health was coming in three times a week...I met all the nurses...it looked to me like they were doing their job. After week three her sutures looked great....so I stopped checking on them and let homehealth care do their job...make sure there was no infection. Within a one week period there is an infection!
**** it! When she ruptured her intestines and they had to cut open her abdomen...she had to heal from the inside out.... they could not stitch her closed because she was sepses. It was a hidious, gaping wound....I took care of her!...I packed her three times a ****ing day for five weeks and the chance of infection was very high!...not one ****ing infection! I take my eye off the ball for a small 5" incision that looked good a week ago!
I can't begin to tell you how upset I was when the doctor was getting ready to take out her stitches....I noticed it immediately!
Heads are gonna roll!
Friday is supposed to be her last day with homehealth care.....they better be there every ****ing day for the next week...because the doctor wants the bandages changed twice a day....and wants to see her again next Wednesday....I'M SO PISSED!:ranting:
